Senior Master William Rosado Rivas is an 8th Dan Black Belt in the Global Taekwon-Do Federation (GTF) and a member of the GTF Executive Technical Committee. Throughout more than three decades of training, competition, teaching, and international service, he has represented Puerto Rico at numerous national and international events while contributing to the continued development of GTF Taekwon-Do as an instructor, referee, judge, and seminar leader.

His martial arts journey began at the age of seven or eight, inspired by his uncle, who lived in the Bronx, New York. In 1989, he formally began training in Taekwon-Do under Mr. Daniel Muñiz in Ponce, Puerto Rico. At the time, his instructor was affiliated with ITF Young Brothers Puerto Rico under the leadership of Master Benny Rivera, 6th Dan.

In 1994, following his instructor’s affiliation with the Global Taekwon-Do Federation under Grand Master Park Jung Tae, Senior Master Rosado began what would become a long international career within the GTF. Over the following years, he represented Puerto Rico at numerous championships throughout North America and Europe, earning multiple medals in patterns and sparring while gaining recognition for his technical ability and competitive success.

A defining moment in his career came in 1996 when he met Grand Master Park Jung Tae during the Caribbean Cup in Puerto Rico. During the event, he earned first place in patterns, second place in sparring, and was named Overall Patterns Champion following his performance of the Jook-Am pattern. His relationship with Grand Master Park continued to grow, leading to an invitation in 2002 to work as an instructor at the official GTF Headquarters in Toronto, Canada. Following Grand Master Park’s passing, he remained in Toronto for an additional year, supporting both the Park family and the organization.

As his career progressed, Senior Master Rosado expanded his contributions beyond competition. He became an international referee and judge at GTF World Championships, conducted technical seminars in several countries, and continued to support the technical development of the federation. In 2022, he was appointed to the GTF Executive Technical Committee under the leadership of Grand Master Christopher Gantner.

In 2024, Senior Master Rosado was promoted to 8th Dan by the GTF Executive Committee during the Masters Conference and International Instructors Seminar held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. He continues to support the Global Taekwon-Do Federation through technical instruction, international seminars, officiating, and service to the federation.

1991	Competed internationally for the first time in Caracas, Venezuela, earning first and second place as a colour belt.
1993	Awarded 1st Dan Black Belt through ITF Young Brothers Puerto Rico.
1994	Entered the Global Taekwon-Do Federation following his instructor’s affiliation with GTF under Grand Master Park Jung Tae. Competed in the Dominican Republic, marking the beginning of his international GTF career.
1996	Won three gold medals at the North American Championships in Ottawa, Canada. Met Grand Master Park Jung Tae during the Caribbean Cup in Puerto Rico, earning first place in patterns, second place in sparring, and the Overall Patterns Champion title.
1997	Returned to the North American Championships, winning three gold medals in patterns and team sparring. Also competed at the Mayor’s Cup in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, earning first and second place finishes.
1998	Competed at the GTF Championships in Germany, winning two silver medals and one bronze medal.
1999	Won two gold medals at the North American Championships in Canada and performed the Jook-Am pattern demonstration at the banquet, introduced by Grand Master Park Jung Tae.
2000	Competed at the GTF World Championships in Rimini, Italy, earning two silver medals, one bronze medal, and participating on the demonstration team.
2002	Invited by Grand Master Park Jung Tae to work as an instructor at the official GTF Headquarters in Toronto, Canada. Following Grand Master Park’s passing, remained for one additional year supporting the Park family and the organization. Competed at the GTF World Championships in Canada, winning gold and silver medals as a member of the Puerto Rico team.
2005	Worked with then-Master Christopher Gantner in New Jersey before returning to Puerto Rico to continue working with the GTF Puerto Rico organization.
2006	Served as an international referee and judge at the GTF World Championships in Sardinia, Italy.
2009	Won a gold medal in patterns at the GTF World Championships in Malaysia while also serving as an international referee and judge.
2011–2013	Collaborated with Master García and Grand Master Benny Rivera (ITF), further developing his technical knowledge and instructional experience.
2015	Successfully passed the examination for 7th Dan Black Belt in Toronto, Canada before a panel of Masters and Grand Masters.
2022	Appointed to the GTF Executive Technical Committee under the leadership of Grand Master Christopher Gantner.
2023	Conducted international technical seminars in the Dominican Republic and Temuco, Chile.
2024	Promoted to 8th Dan by the GTF Executive Committee during the Masters Conference and International Instructors Seminar in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Conducted a seminar in Durban, South Africa, and served as an international referee and judge at an international championship.

Throughout his career, Senior Master Rosado has contributed to the international development of the Global Taekwon-Do Federation through:

Senior Master William Rosado Rivas has dedicated his Taekwon-Do career to the principles of respect, discipline, integrity, and perseverance.
