Italy Submits Bid to Host the 2026 GTF Open European Championship & Youth Championship

The Global Taekwon-Do Federation has received an official proposal from representatives in Italy to host the 2026 GTF Open European Championship & Youth Championship on the scenic Asiago Plateau in the Veneto region.

The proposal has been submitted through Mr. Vladimir Pyatkov, in cooperation with local partners and municipal authorities, and presents a comprehensive plan for hosting one of the federation’s premier international competitions.

Located in northern Italy, the Asiago Plateau is renowned for its mountain landscapes, modern sporting facilities, welcoming hospitality, and rich cultural heritage. The proposal outlines several potential competition venues, accommodation options for athletes and officials, transportation logistics, and the support of local government and community organizations.

In addition to providing an excellent environment for international competition, the proposed host region offers participants and their families the opportunity to experience some of Italy’s most celebrated destinations, including Venice, Vicenza, Padua, Bassano del Grappa, and the historic mountain communities of the Asiago Plateau.

The submitted bid also highlights the region’s previous experience in organizing international sporting events, together with detailed planning for competition management, medical services, awards, volunteer support, and athlete services.

The Executive Committee will review the proposal as part of the federation’s event planning process. Further information regarding the selection of the host location, event dates, registration, and official competition details will be announced following the completion of the review process.

The Global Taekwon-Do Federation extends its appreciation to Mr. Vladimir Pyatkov and all local organizers and municipal partners for their commitment and effort in preparing this comprehensive proposal.
